The AirPods 2nd Gen was introduced in October 2019

They're identical in appearance, shape, and glossiness. The design is the same on both sides of the casing. Just as previously, you connect them with your iPhone by just holding the cover open nearby. Double-tap to skip music forward/back or call Siri, exactly like the old ones. When you remove one from your ear, the music stops and then resumes when you replace it.

The new AirPods are nearly identical to the previous ones, with the addition of a new optional Wireless Charging Case with a small LED on the front.
